Understanding stressor–strain relationships during the COVID-19 pandemic: the role of social support, adjustment to remote work, and work–life conflict

Abstract This study investigates how the transition to remote work during coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic is experienced by employees. We investigate what extent perceived stressors relate psychological strain through perceptions of social support, work–life conflict, and adjustment work. The findings expound mechanisms underlying in context sudden organizational change. Specifically, this shows that both challenge hindrance have negative impact on work, whereas are more strongly negatively related support. further demonstrates there hardly any buffering job control, structuring, communication technology use implications these stressors. These contribute our theoretical understanding provide actionable for policies facilitating employees' adaptation
